about

sometimes in life we let the negativity overshadow the positivity. we bloom only to let the sun of criticism crush our hopes, withering when we should be soaking up the love and light. it can feel like everytime we try, the world shuts us down. i want this song to remind us that perception is reality; we can make life what we want it to be. the sun is still there shining behind the moon; just wait a few seconds, and you’ll see it again.

lyrics

Lost in cut-throat daylight, dying
Solstice and it’s August overnight
Reality surrounds me
But where is perception?

Shorter days overshadowed
Night comes too often
A blanket of peace, a pillow of thoughts
Sleep without silence

Until sunrise
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Awake and it dies
Burn me when I open my eyes
Too soon
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Only to be eclipsed

Bathe in the warm sunlight
Let the cool breeze fill my lungs once more
The flowers blossom but again fall dead
As do I

Sunken into the earth
I strive to bloom again
Writhing in agony
I sit alone and empty

Until sunrise
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Awake and it dies
Burn me when I open my eyes
Too soon
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Only to be eclipsed

Only to be, only to be
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Only to be, only to be

Let the rain fall
Watch the sun die
Who am I when the sky goes blind?

As the leaves fall (as the trees fall)
Watch the sun fight (as the sun sears)
Feel it all (watch it burn)
As the sky goes blind (as we all go blind)

Until sunrise
Ride the waves of light
Until sunrise
Ride the waves of light

Until sunrise
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Awake and I die
Burn me when I open my eyes
Too soon
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Only to be eclipsed

Until sunrise
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Awake and I die
Burn me when I open my eyes
Too soon
Only to be eclipsed by the moon
Only to be eclipsed

Sneak peek: Background info, lyrics, and credits for “do you miss me?” by Melody Larue, scheduled for release on May 20, 2025

Background info:

i wrote this song in middle school after losing one of my best friends. i used to miss her a lot, and i wondered if she secretly felt the same. (i don’t miss her anymore, for the record.)

Lyrics:

It was my fault, I was selfish
You told me I was conceited
Didn’t mean to, it wasn’t my intention
Tried to work it out, but you wanted to end it

I thought we
Would last forever
I guess apologies
Aren’t in your vocabulary

Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?

I apologize, and you ignore me
Throw me away over one mistake
Pretend that I’m worthless, I know that I’m not
I miss you, even though you’re breaking my heart

I thought we
Would last forever
I guess apologies
Aren’t in your vocabulary

Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?

In a bed of roses, there’s thorns
Some have haloes, some have horns
I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t prepared
We can’t be repaired

In a bed of roses, there’s thorns
Some have haloes, some have horns
I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t prepared
We can’t be repaired

Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?
Do you miss me?
Do you miss me?
Like I miss you?

Sneak peek: Background info, lyrics, and credits for “doses” by Melody Larue, scheduled for release on January 29, 2025

Background info:

“doses” came from an era of doing too much and doing it alone. sometimes songs manifest reality; i’m taking life in doses now and i’m doing it with the support of my people. listen to “doses” to manifest your own inner peace, maybe?!

Lyrics:

Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in a dose

How can you feel
What you cannot define
Can’t put my finger on it
But it hurts all the time

How can you see
If the red and green are grey
I can’t help that in shadows
My mind fills in the blanks

Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in a dose

Do you hear music
In the quiet of your room
Don’t know who’s in the closet
Playing songs all afternoon

Do you want a taste of freedom
From the boredom of your nights
Don’t want nobody with me
But when I’m alone I don’t feel right

Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in doses
You’re doing the most
Take it in a dose
