Songwriter Spotlight: Melody Larue

Melody has released four singles and a debut EP called “if i’m being honest.” Listen wherever you stream music!

Her mom Lori sent me this video of Sound House alum Julianne Carr performing with her band Dahlia last night. Locked in on the bass, singing harmonies, radiating confidence on stage… it’s so cool to see how she’s elevating during her college years. I can definitely see a connection between her days as band leader of The Sunstones to her nights performing with Dahlia. Go follow @dahlia.the.band if you haven’t already. And the song they’re playing is “The Dream” by The Favors. typical chaos of another track-as-much-as-possible-as-fast-as-possible night at the studio with @stri.veband Here’s sweetie pie Sophia strumming some chords and singing a song. Notice her cool Gmaj7 chord shape and her palm-muting strumming pattern in the chorus. She’s still getting the hang of this one, but Sophia learns so quickly! Fiona was all giggles and dancing and positive self-talk while tracking vocals for her newest original song! She’s tackling a heavy topic, but she’s doing so in an encouraging environment with lots of space for introspection and positive reframing. The best part is the music; music truly has the power to transform darkness into light! In the past fifteen years, I’ve gotten to guide so many songwriters through the process of this musical transformation, and it’s definitely one of my absolute favorite parts of the job. Thanks for writing with me, Fiona! @ishyishishy and I have been working on a new song. the real version isn’t this fast. I just couldn’t help myself; I had to pitch shift and speed it up. hopefully we’ll put this one out as a @booshyhead x @weirdholidayworld collab soon. Sound House band The Scoundrels (new band name coming in 2027) performed “When It Comes To You” by John Anderson at the Remington Fall Festival last weekend.
