General Studio Policies
COVID-19 Safety Plan
The owner commits to following all rules and regulations suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and outlined by the federal, state, and local governing offices. All instructors and students must wear masks indoors. Studio surfaces will be cleaned daily with disinfectant and studio air will be cleaned daily via fresh air circulation or an air purifier. In the case of an infection, the owner will notify all instructors and students, close the studio until it has been thoroughly disinfected, and then reopen if there are no additional infections.
Safe Space Commitment
The owner does not tolerate bigoted or predatory comments and/or actions, and commits to cultivating a safe space for all by dismissing instructors, students, and student guardians who violate the Safe Space Commitment. The owner will report any hate crimes or predatory behaviors to the police on behalf of students or guests affected.
The studio will be closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas. Additional closures may be scheduled in advance at the owner’s discretion. In the event of inclement weather or other intervening factors, the owner and/or students can opt for online lessons or cancel on a case-by-case basis with communication.
Scheduled Instruction Time
Students commit to their reserved instruction time, arriving on time for scheduled lessons, classes, and rehearsals. Students forfeit any instruction time wasted by tardiness. Other than for health (including mental health) and emergency situations, students who cancel lessons on the day of scheduled instruction time will be billed for that reserved instruction time. Lessons may be rescheduled on a case-by-case basis if discussed and agreed upon in advance with the instructor.
Removal from the Schedule
To ensure respect for the instructor’s time, students who “no-show” (miss a lesson without notice) more than once will be removed from the schedule. Students who are perpetually late and/or rescheduling lessons (more than once a month) may also be removed from the schedule at the instructor’s discretion.
Billing and Payment
Students reserve instruction time with advanced payment unless otherwise negotiated. Students pay for lessons and rehearsals monthly, with unused instruction time payments carrying over into the next month. Students may pay for workshops in their entirety up front or pay incrementally if negotiated with the instructor. The instructor documents all scheduled lessons and payments and may request payment or refuse service if instruction time is not paid for in advance. Students may contact the instructor for lessons and payment information when necessary.
Payable to “Maddison Hicks”
2.6% + $0.10 added to bill for processing fees
May be accepted on a case-by-case basis, but the lessons studio does not have a cash drawer for change.
